287 — Ali ibn al-Jad narrated to us: Isrā’īl informed us, on the authority of al-Amash, from Ibrāhīm—may Allah have mercy on him—who said, “I sometimes find myself entertaining a thought, yet nothing keeps me from voicing it except the fear that I may be afflicted by it.”
