272 — ʿAlī ibn al-Jaʿd narrated to us: al-Mubārak ibn Fadāla informed us, from al-Hasan—may Allah have mercy on him—who said: The Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—said, “Whoever obtains a meal in this world at the expense of his Muslim brother, Allah will feed him, in return, a meal in the Fire. Whoever obtains a garment in this world at the expense of his Muslim brother, Allah will clothe him on the Day of Resurrection in a garment of fire. And whoever publicly disgraces his Muslim brother, Allah will publicly disgrace him on the Day of Resurrection.”
