271 — Ahmad ibn Jamīl narrated to us: ʿAbdullah ibn al-Mubārak informed us: Sufyān narrated to us, from Mansūr, from Ibrāhīm, from Hammām—may Allah have mercy on him—who said: We were with Hudhayfa—may Allah be pleased with him—when they mentioned a man who relayed people’s conversations to ʿUthmān—may Allah be pleased with him. Hudhayfa said: I heard the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—say, “A tale-bearer will not enter Paradise.”
