265 — Alī ibn al-Ja‘d narrated to us: Zuhayr ibn Mu‘āwiya informed us, from Abū Ishāq ⦗159⦘, from ‘Amr ibn Maymūn, who said: “When Moses, peace be upon him, hastened to his Lord, he saw a man beneath the Throne and wished for a station like his. He said, ‘This man must surely be held in great honor by his Lord.’ He asked his Lord to tell him the man’s name, but He did not. He then said, ‘I shall tell you three things about him: he never envied people for the bounty Allah had bestowed upon them, he was never undutiful toward his parents, and he did not go about tale-bearing.’”
