262 — Harūn ibn Abd Allāh narrated to me: Ibrāhīm ibn Abd al-Rahmān ibn Mahdī informed us, from Miskīn Abū Fātimah, from a shaykh of Basra, from Abū al-Jawzā, who said: I asked Ibn Abbās, may Allah be pleased with them both, “Tell me: Who is the person whom Allah has condemned to woe?” He replied:
“Woe to every scorner” [al-Humazah: 1].
He said: “It is the one who goes about tale-bearing, drives brothers apart, and sets everyone against one another.”
