261 — Ahmad ibn Jamīl narrated to us: Ibn al-Mubārak informed us: Ismāʿīl ibn Abī Khālid informed us, from Shubayl ibn ʿAwf, may Allah have mercy on him, who said: “It used to be said: Whoever hears of an indecent act and spreads it is like the one who first made it public.”
