257 — Ahmad ibn Jamīl narrated to us: Ibn al-Mubārak informed us, from Wuhayb—that is, Ibn Khālid—from Mūsā ibn ʿUqba, from Sulaymān ibn ʿAmr ibn Thābit, from Jubayr ibn Nufayr al-Hadramī, who heard Abū al-Dardāʾ, may Allah be pleased with him, say: “If any man spreads a statement against another man, though the latter is innocent of it, intending thereby to disgrace him in this world, Allah has taken it upon Himself to bring him near the Fire because of it on the Day of Resurrection.”
