253 — Ismāʿīl ibn Ibrāhīm ibn Bassām narrated to us: Sālih al-Murrī narrated to me, from Saʿīd al-Jurayrī, from Abū ʿUthmān al-Nahdī, from Abū Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Indeed, the most beloved of you to Allah are those with the finest character: those who are easygoing and accommodating, who take readily to others and to whom others take readily. Indeed, the most detested of you by Allah are those who go about spreading tales, sow division between brothers, and seek out the faults of the innocent.”
