237 — ‘Ubayd Allah narrated to me: Mūsā ibn Ismā‘īl narrated to us: al-Salt ibn Tarīf al-Mighwalī narrated to us, saying: I asked al-Hasan—may Allah have mercy on him—“There is a man whose wickedness I have come to know, and I know him through and through. Does mentioning him constitute backbiting?” He replied, “No—and may the wicked never know comfort.”
