197 — Nasr ibn Tarkhān narrated to us: Imrān ibn Khālid al-Khuzā‘ī narrated to us, saying: Al-Hasan—may Allah be pleased with him—used to say, “O son of Adam, you will never attain the true reality of faith until ⦗132⦘ you cease faulting people for a fault that is also found in you, and until you begin by rectifying that fault within yourself. Once you do so, you will be occupied solely with your own self; and the servants most beloved to Allah are those who are like this.”
