175 — Muhammad ibn Alī ibn Shāqiq narrated to us. He said: I heard my father say: Abū ⦗124⦘ Mujāhid narrated to us, from Thābit al-Bunānī, from Anas ibn Mālik—may Allah be pleased with him—who said: The Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—addressed us in a sermon. He mentioned usury and emphasized its gravity, saying: “A single dirham that a man acquires through usury is, in Allah’s sight, a graver sin than thirty-six acts of unlawful sexual intercourse that he commits. The gravest form of usury is violating the honor of a Muslim man.”
