165 — Abū Bakr Muhammad ibn Abī ʿAttāb narrated to me: ʿAbd al-Quddūs Abū al-Mughīrah narrated to us, from Safwān ibn ʿAmr, from ʿAbd al-Rahmān ibn Jubayr ibn Nufayr, from Anas ibn Mālik—may Allah be pleased with him—who said: The Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—said: “On the night I was taken on the Night Journey, I passed by people who were clawing their faces with their fingernails. I asked, ‘Gabriel, who are these people?’ He replied, ‘These are those who backbite people and assail their honor.’”
