155 — My father and Ahmad ibn Manīʿ narrated to me. They said: Marwān ibn Shujāʿ narrated to us, from ʿAbd al-Karīm ibn Abī Umayya, who said, “No scrupulously pious person has ever engaged in disputation”—meaning, concerning religion.
