147 — Abū Khaythama and al-Qawārīrī narrated to us, saying: Yahyā al-Qattān narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, who said: Sulaymān ibn Atīq informed me, from Talq ibn Habīb, from al-Ahnaf ibn Qays, from Abdullah ibn Masūd—may Allah be pleased with him—that the Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—said: “Indeed, those who indulge in affected excess are ruined!” He repeated it three times.
