12 — Imrān ibn Mūsā—that is, al-Qazzāz—narrated to me, saying: Hammād ibn Zayd narrated to us, from Abū al-Sahbā, from Saʿīd ibn Jubayr, from Abū Saʿīd, who said—I believe he traced it back to the Prophet: “When the son of Adam awakens in the morning, all his limbs humble themselves before the tongue, saying: ‘Fear Allah concerning us. If you remain upright, we shall remain upright; and if you become crooked, we shall become crooked.’”
