72 – Ahmad ibn Ibrahim narrated to us; Rawh ibn Qasim related to me that a man from his household adopted an ascetic way and said, “I will not eat khabīs or fālūdhaj—rich sweet puddings—because I cannot render the gratitude they deserve.” Rawh continued, “I later met al-Hasan and mentioned this to him.” Al-Hasan replied, “That man is foolish! Can he even show due thanks for cold water?”
