7 – ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Baḥr narrated to us; Abu ʿAqīl related to us, from Bakr ibn ʿAbd Allāh, who said: I heard him say, “Whenever a servant declares, al-hamdu lillāh (Praise be to Allah), a new blessing becomes incumbent upon him because of that very statement. What, then, is the recompense for that blessing? It is that he should say again, al-hamdu lillāh—thereby securing yet another favor. The blessings of Allah never come to an end.”
