68 – Muhammad ibn ‘Abbad ibn Musa al-Kinani narrated to me; Yahya ibn Sulaym al-Ta’ifi related it to me, from Isma‘il ibn Umayyah, from ‘Amr ibn Sa‘d ibn al-‘As, from Nafi‘, from Ibn ‘Umar: The Messenger of Allah recited Surah al-Rahman—or it was recited in his presence—and he said, “Why is it that I hear the jinn giving a better response than you? Whenever I reached the verse, ‘So which of your Lord’s favors will you both deny?’ (55:13), the jinn would answer, ‘We deny none of the blessings of our Lord.’”
٦٨ - حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادِ بْنِ مُوسَى مِنْ كِنَانَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ الطَّائِفِيُّ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ الْعَاصِي، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَرَأَ سُورَةَ الرَّحْمَنِ أَوْ قُرِئَتْ عِنْدَهُ، فَقَالَ: " مَا لِي أَسْمَعُ الْجِنَّ خَيْرًا مِنْكُمْ جَوَابًا لِرَدِّهَا مِنْكُمْ؟ مَا أَتَيْتُ عَلَى قَوْلِ ﴿فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ﴾ [الرحمن: ١٣] إِلَّا قَالَتِ الْجِنُّ: وَلَا بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ نِعْمَةِ رَبِّنَا نُكَذِّبُ "
