46 – Muhammad ibn Idris narrated to me; ʿAbd al-Samad ibn Muhammad related to us, from his father, who said: ʿAbd Allah ibn Thaʿlabah said:

“My Lord, one sign of Your generosity is that You are obeyed and never opposed, and one sign of Your forbearance is that You are opposed as though You did not see. In which era have the inhabitants of Your earth ever ceased to disobey You? Yet, by Allah, You still return to them with nothing but goodness.”
