45 – Muhammad ibn al-Husayn narrated to me; Ibrahim ibn ʿAbd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi related to us; Sughdi ibn Abi al-Hajar told me, saying:
“We used to enter upon al-Mughira ibn Muhammad and ask, ‘How are you this morning, Abu Muhammad?’ He would reply, ‘We have awoken drowned in blessings, burdened by how little thanks we give. Our Lord keeps endearing Himself to us although He has no need of us, while we alienate ourselves from Him even though we stand in utmost need of Him.’”
