206 – Hamzah ibn al-ʿAbbās narrated to me; ʿAbdān narrated to us; ʿAbdullah narrated to us; from Shibl; from Ibn Abī Najīḥ; from Mujāhid regarding Allah’s words, “Indeed, he was a grateful servant” (al-Isrāʾ 17:3). He said:

“Noah never ate a morsel without praising Allah, never drank a drink without praising Allah, never took a step without praising Allah for it, and never grasped anything without praising Allah for it. Because of this, Allah commended him, saying: ‘Indeed, he was a grateful servant’ (al-Isrāʾ 17:3).”
