205 – Hamzah narrated to me; ʿAbdān narrated to us; ʿAbdullah narrated to us; al-Muthannā ibn al-Ṣabbāḥ informed me, from ʿAmr ibn Shuʿayb, from his father, from ʿAbdullah ibn ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ, who said:

“Four qualities—whoever embodies them, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise: (1) his safeguard in every affair is the declaration, ‘There is no god but Allah’; (2) when calamity strikes, he says, ‘Indeed, we belong to Allah and indeed to Him we shall return’; (3) when he is granted something, he says, ‘Praise be to Allah’; and (4) when he commits a sin, he says, ‘I seek Allah’s forgiveness.’”
