194 – Al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī al-ʿIjlī narrated to us; ʿAlī ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān narrated to me; he said:
“One of the wise men wrote to his brother:
‘To proceed, my brother: This morning we are encompassed by so many of Allah’s favors that we could never count them, even though our acts of disobedience to Him are numerous. So which of these blessings should we thank Him for—the manifest beauty He has displayed, or the shameful faults He has concealed?’”
