193 – Ahmad ibn Ibrāhīm narrated to us; Saʿīd ibn ʿĀmir transmitted it; Asmāʾ ibn ʿUbayd related to me from al-Ḥasan, who said:
“What a magnificent blessing it is—consumed with pleasure and passed out with ease! There was once a king in this very town who would watch one of his pages go to the water-jug, draw some water, then rinse his mouth while still standing. The king would say, ‘If only I were like you! He does not drink until the bite of thirst is cut, yet when he does drink, that single draught brings him death upon death.’ What a blessing indeed—eaten with relish and expelled in tranquility.”
