Al-ShukrIbn Abi al-Dunya

192 – Ibrāhīm ibn ʿAbd al-Malik narrated to me; Hishām ibn ʿAmmār transmitted from ʿAmr ibn Wāqid; Yazīd ibn Abī Mālik conveyed from Shahr ibn Ḥawshab, who said: I heard ʿĀʾishah say, “Whenever a servant drinks plain, pure water—so it enters him without harm and leaves him without harm—gratitude becomes incumbent upon him.”
