191 – Salamah ibn Shabīb narrated to me; Sahl ibn ʿĀṣim narrated to us; Abū Rabīʿah narrated to us; Hishām ibn Salmān narrated, saying:

“I was sitting with al-Ḥasan and with Bakr ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Muzanī. Al-Ḥasan said to him, ‘Come now, Abū ʿAbd Allāh, offer some supplications on behalf of your brothers.’

So Bakr praised Allah, extolled Him, and invoked blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ. Then he said, ‘By Allah, I do not know which of the two favors is greater for me and for you: the favor of the path, or the favor of the deliverance—when Allah brought it forth for us.’

Al-Ḥasan remarked, ‘You have spoken wondrously, O Bakr; it is indeed one of Allah’s tremendous favors.’
