178 – Ismāʿīl ibn Asad narrated to us; Yaʿlā ibn ʿUbayd narrated to us; Muḥammad ibn ʿAwn al-Khurasānī narrated to us, from Ibn Sīrīn, who said:

“Ibn ʿUmar used to look into the mirror frequently, and he even carried one with him on his journeys. I asked, ‘Why?’ He answered, ‘I look at myself, and whenever I see in my face something that is a beauty in me but would be considered a flaw in someone else, I praise Allah for it.’”
