Al-ShukrIbn Abi al-Dunya

168 – Ishaq ibn Ismaʿil narrated to us; Sufyan narrated to us; a man of our own generation related to me that the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) advised someone regarding three matters. He said, “Make frequent mention of death, for it will detach you from everything else. Be constant in supplication, for you do not know when your prayer will be answered. And persevere in gratitude, for gratitude brings increase.”
