155 – Muhammad ibn Yazid al-Rifaʿī narrated to us; Abu Bakr ibn ʿAyyāsh transmitted; al-Kalbī told me, from Abu Ṣāliḥ, from Ibn ʿAbbās, who said that Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allah related: The Prophet recited, “When My servants ask you about Me, I am indeed near; I answer the call of the caller when he calls upon Me” (al-Baqarah 2:186). He then supplicated, saying:
“O Allah, You have commanded us to pray to You and You have guaranteed the answer. Here I am, O Allah, here I am! Here I am—You have no partner—here I am! Truly, all praise, every favor, and the sovereignty belong to You; You have no partner. I testify that You are the One, the Unique, the Eternal Refuge; You neither beget nor are begotten, and none is comparable to You. I testify that Your promise is true, that meeting You is true, that Paradise is true, that the Fire is true, that the Hour is coming—there is no doubt about it—and that You will resurrect those who are in the graves.”
