143 – Abu Ḥātim related to me; Aḥmad ibn Abī al-Ḥawārī narrated, saying: “I said to Abū Muʿāwiyah al-Aswad, ‘O Abū Muʿāwiyah, how magnificent is the blessing Allah has bestowed upon us in tawḥīd (pure monotheism). We ask Allah not to deprive us of it.’ He replied, ‘It is only right for the Benefactor to perfect His favor upon the one He has favored.’”
