124 – Muhammad ibn Yazid al-Adami related to me; Abu al-Yaman related to us, from Abu Bakr ibn Abi Maryam, from Rashid ibn Saʿd, who said:
“ʿUthman was summoned concerning some people who had gathered to eat the flesh of an animal that had died. He set out to seize them, but they scattered before he reached them. So he freed a slave in gratitude that the disgrace of a Muslim had not taken place at his hands.”
