12 – ʿUmar ibn Ismaʿil al-Hamdani narrated to us; Muhammad ibn ʿUbayd narrated, from Yusuf al-Sabbagh, from al-Hasan, who said: Moses (peace be upon him) said, “My Lord, how can Adam ever render due thanks for what You have done for him? You created him with Your own hand, breathed into him from Your spirit, settled him in Your Garden, and ordered the angels to prostrate to him.” Allah said, “O Moses, he knew that all of that came from Me, so he praised Me, and that praise counted as gratitude for what I had bestowed upon him.”
