851 — Ibn Sāʿid also narrated to us, saying: Al-Husayn ibn al-Hasan al-Marwazī, ⦗1282⦘ Yaʿqūb ibn Ibrāhīm al-Dawraqī, and Ziyād ibn Ayyūb narrated to us, saying: Abū Muʿāwiyah informed us, saying: Al-Aʿmash narrated to us. Ibn Sāʿid said: Yūsuf ibn Mūsā al-Qattān also narrated to us, saying: Jarīr, Abū Muʿāwiyah, and Wakīʿ narrated to us—the wording is Wakīʿ’s—saying: Al-Aʿmash narrated to us, saying: I heard Mujāhid narrate from Tāwūs, from Ibn Abbās, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, passed by two graves and said, “They are indeed being punished, though they are not being punished for anything grave.” He then related the hadith in full.
