850 — Al-Firyābī narrated to us, saying: Abū Bakr ibn Abī Shaybah narrated to us, saying: Wakīʿ ibn al-Jarrāh narrated to us, saying: Al-Aʿmash narrated to us, saying: I heard Mujāhid narrate from Tāwūs, from Ibn Abbās, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, passed by two graves and said, “They are indeed being punished, though they are not being punished for anything grave. One of them used to go about spreading malicious gossip, while the other did not protect himself from being soiled by his urine.” He then called for a fresh palm stalk and related the rest of the hadith.
