846 — Al-Firyābī also narrated to us, saying: Ishāq ibn Rāhawayh narrated to us, saying: Al-Muammal ibn Ismāīl informed us, saying: Hammād ibn Salama narrated to us, from Thābit, from Anas, who reported that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, passed by a garden belonging to Banū al-Najjār while riding a gray mule. He heard the voices of people being punished in their graves, whereupon the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Were it not that you might cease burying one another, I would ask Allah, Glorious and Exalted, to let you hear the punishment of the grave.”
