836 — Abū Bakr al-Naysābūrī also narrated to us, saying: Hammād ibn al-Hasan al-Warrāq narrated to us, saying: Abū Āsim informed us, saying: Ibn Jurayj informed us, saying: Abū al-Zubayr informed me that he heard Jābir ibn Abd Allah say: I heard the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) say:
“I shall precede you as your forerunner. If you do not find me, I shall be at the Basin. My Basin extends as far as the distance from Ayla to Mecca.”
And he mentioned the hadith.
٨٣٦ - وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْوَرَّاقُ قَالَ: أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ قَالَ: أَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرٍ , أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ: " أَنَا فَرَطُكُمْ بَيْنَ أَيْدِيكُمْ , فَإِنْ لَمْ تَجِدُونِي فَأَنَا عَلَى الْحَوْضِ , وَحْوضِي: قَدْرُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْلَةَ إِلَى مَكَّةَ " وَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ
