834 — Al-Firyābī also narrated to us, saying: Yazīd ibn Khālid ibn Mawhab al-Ramlī narrated to us, saying: Abd Allah ibn Wahb narrated to us, from Amr ibn al-Hārith, that Bukayr ibn Abd Allah narrated to him, from al-Qāsim ibn Abbās al-Hāshimī, from Abd Allah ibn Rāfi, the freedman of Umm Salama, from Umm Salama, who said:
“I used to hear people mention the Basin, but I had not heard about it from the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). Then one day, while my maidservant was combing my hair, I heard the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) say, ‘O people!’ I said to the maidservant, ‘Step away from me.’ She replied, ‘He called only the men; he did not call the women.’ I said, ‘I am one of the people.’ The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) then said, ‘I shall precede you at the Basin. Take care that none of you comes to me only to be driven away from it, just as a stray camel is driven away.’” He then mentioned the hadith.
