826 — Abū al-Abbās Hāmid ibn Shuayb al-Balkhī narrated to us, saying: Yahyā ibn Ayyūb al-Ābid narrated to us, saying: Abū Ismāīl al-Muaddib narrated to us, from Mujālid, from ⦗1259⦘ al-Shabī, who said: A man took an oath in the presence of Ibn Ziyād, saying, “May Allah not give him drink from the Basin of Muhammad—peace and blessings be upon him!” Ibn Ziyād asked him, “Does Muhammad have a Basin?” He replied, “Yes. Here is Anas ibn Mālik, who relates that he has a Basin.” Anas then came and said: I heard the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—say, “Indeed, I have a Basin, and I shall precede you to it.”
