821 — Abū Bakr ibn Abī Dāwūd narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Yahyā ibn Fayyād narrated to us, saying: Yazīd ibn Hārūn narrated to us, saying: Zakariyyā ibn Abī Zāʾida informed us, from Atiyya, who said: Kaʿb took al-Abbās ibn Abd al-Muttalib—may Allah be pleased with him—by the hand and said, “Keep this in your care for me, so that you may intercede for me by virtue of it on the Day of Resurrection.” Al-Abbās asked, “Will I have any right to intercede?” He replied, “Yes. No member of a prophet’s household embraces Islam without being granted the right to intercede.”
⦗1252⦘ Muhammad ibn Husayn—may Allah Most High have mercy on him—said: My hope for everyone who believes in what we have mentioned concerning intercession; in the people from among those who affirm Allah’s oneness who will be brought out of the Fire; in everything we have previously mentioned; and in everything we shall mention, Allah willing, concerning love for the Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—his household, his descendants, his Companions, and his wives—may Allah be pleased with them all—is that our Gracious Master will have mercy on us, will not deprive us or you of His bounty and mercy, and will include us and you in the intercession of our Prophet Muhammad—peace and blessings be upon him—and the intercession of those Companions, members of his household, and wives whom we have mentioned—may Allah be pleased with them all. Whoever denies intercession will have no share in it, just as Anas ibn Mālik said.
