807 — Abū Bakr ibn Abī Dāwūd narrated to us: Alī ibn Mihrān narrated to us: Abd Allah—that is, Ibn Abī Rushayd—narrated to us: Uthmān ibn Matar said ⦗1237⦘: Zayd ibn Aslam narrated to us, from Atā ibn Yasār, from Abū Saīd, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

“None of you, when he has a claim against his companion, argues more vehemently than the believers will plead with their Lord—Glorious and Exalted is He—concerning their brothers who entered the Fire. They will say, ‘Our Lord, what of our brothers who used to pray with us, fast with us, and perform Hajj with us? Were they cast into the Fire?’ Allah—Glorious and Exalted is He—will say, ‘Go and bring out those whom you recognize.’ So they will bring them out. Then Allah—Glorious and Exalted is He—will say, ‘Bring out anyone whose heart contains faith equal to the weight of a dinar,’ until He says, ‘Half that weight,’ then, ‘A mustard seed’s weight,’ and then, ‘A mote’s weight.’ Allah—Glorious and Exalted is He—will then say, ‘The virtuous among the believers have interceded, and the Most Merciful of those who show mercy remains.’ He will then take one or two handfuls from the Fire, and they will enter Paradise.”
