801 — Abū Jafar Ahmad ibn Yahyā al-Hulwānī narrated to us: Muhammad ibn al-Sabbāh al-Dūlābī narrated to us: Khālid ibn Abd Allah narrated to us, from Saīd ibn Yazīd Abū Maslama, from Abū Nadra, from Abū Saīd al-Khudrī, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “As for the inhabitants of the Fire who truly belong to it, they will not die therein. But there will be some people ⦗1233⦘ whom the Fire will consume in proportion to their sins; they will burn therein and become charcoal. Allah, Glorified and Exalted, will then grant permission for intercession on their behalf. They will be brought out of the Fire in groups and spread—or scattered—beside the rivers of Paradise. The inhabitants of Paradise will then be commanded to pour water over them, and their flesh will grow back just as a seed sprouts in the sediment carried by a flood.”
