77 — Abū Bakr ibn Abī Dāwūd also narrated to us, saying: Abd al-Malik ibn Shuayb narrated to us, saying: Ibn Wahb narrated to me, saying: al-Layth ibn Saʿd narrated to me, from Yahyā ibn Saʿīd ⦗391⦘, from Khālid ibn Abī Imrān, that al-Hakam ibn Masʿūd al-Najrānī narrated to him that Anas ibn Abī Marthad al-Ansārī narrated to him that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

“There will be a civil strife that is mute, deaf, and blind. The one lying down during it will be better than the one sitting, the one sitting better than the one standing, the one standing better than the one walking, and the one walking better than the one hastening. Whoever refuses, let him offer up his neck.”
