772 — Abū Muhammad al-Hasan ibn Alawayh al-Qattān narrated to us: Āsim ibn Alī narrated to us: al-Layth ibn Sad narrated to us, from Yazīd ibn Abī Habīb, from Bukayr ibn Abd Allah ibn al-Ashajj, that Umar ibn al-Khattāb—may Allah be pleased with him—said: “Some people will argue with you by citing ambiguous passages of the Quran. Counter them with the Sunnah, for the adherents of the Sunnah have greater knowledge ⦗1201⦘ of the Book of Allah—Glorious and Exalted is He.”
