769 — Abū Ahmad Hārūn ibn Yūsuf ibn Ziyād narrated to us: Muhammad ibn Abī Umar al-Adanī narrated to us: Abd al-Wahhāb al-Thaqafī informed us, from Ayyūb, from Ibn Abī Mulaykah, from Aisha—may Allah be pleased with her—that the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—recited the verse beginning:

“It is He who has sent down to you the Book. In it are clear and decisive verses—they are the foundation of the Book” [Āl Imrān: 7].

He then said, “When you see those who argue about it, they are the ones to whom Allah—Glorious and Exalted is He—referred, so beware of them.”
