760 — Ahmad ibn Yahyā al-Hulwānī narrated to us: Muhammad ibn al-Sabbāh narrated to us: Abū Muāwiyah narrated to us: al-Amash narrated to us, from Amr ibn Murrah, from Abū Ubaydah, from Abū Mūsā, who said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, stood among us and delivered five statements. He said:
“Indeed, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, does not sleep, nor is it fitting for Him to sleep. Rather, He lowers the scale and raises it. The deeds of the night are raised to Him before the deeds of the day, and the deeds of the day are raised to Him before the deeds of the night. His veil is fire—or he said, light. Were He to remove it, the radiant splendors of His Face would burn up whatever His sight reaches of His creation.”
