735 — And Jaʿfar al-Sandalī narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn al-Muthannā narrated to us, saying: I heard Bishr ibn al-Hārith say, “Have you not heard what the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: ‘O Turner of hearts, keep my heart firm upon Your religion’? He (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) also said: ‘The heart of the son of Adam lies between two fingers from among the fingers of Allah, Glorious and Majestic.’” Bishr then said, “These Jahmiyyah take grave exception to this.”
