734 — And Jaʿfar ibn Muhammad al-Sandalī narrated to us, saying: Zuhayr ibn Muhammad al-Marwazī narrated to us, saying: al-Muʾammal ibn al-Fadl and Muhammad ibn Saʿīd al-Asbahānī informed us; they said: al-Walīd ibn Muslim narrated to us, saying: I heard ʿAbd al-Rahmān ibn Yazīd ibn Jābir say: Busr ibn ʿUbayd Allah al-Hadramī narrated to me that he heard Abū Idrīs al-Khawlānī say: I heard al-Nawwās ibn Samʿān say: I heard the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) say, “There is no heart but that it lies between two fingers of the Lord of all worlds. If He wills to keep it upright, He keeps it upright; and if He wills to cause it to deviate, He causes it to deviate.” He said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) would therefore say, “O Turner of hearts, keep my heart firm upon Your religion.”
