725 — Abū Muhammad Abd Allāh ibn Sālih al-Bukhārī also informed us, saying: Ishāq ibn Ibrāhīm al-Marwazī narrated to us, saying: Jarīr ibn Abd al-Hamīd narrated to us, from al-A‘mash, from Habīb ibn Abī Thābit, from Atā’, from Ibn Umar, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Do not call the face ugly, for the son of Adam was created in the image of the Most Merciful, Mighty and Majestic.” ⦗1153⦘

Muhammad ibn al-Husayn, may Allah have mercy on him, said: This is one of the teachings of the Sunnah in which Muslims are required to believe. One must not ask regarding it, “How?” or “Why?” Rather, it must be received with submission and affirmation, while refraining from speculative inquiry, as stated by those who came before among the imams of the Muslims.
