720 — Abū Saʿīd Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Ziyād narrated to us, saying: Abū Hafs ʿUmar ibn Mudrik al-Qāss narrated to us, saying: Al-Haytham ibn Khārijah narrated to us, saying: Al-Walīd ibn Muslim narrated to us, saying: “I asked al-Awzāʿī, al-Thawrī, Mālik ibn Anas, and al-Layth ibn Saʿd about the hadiths concerning the divine attributes. They all said, ‘Pass them on as they have come, without interpretation.’”
