715 — Abū Bakr ibn Abī Dāwūd informed us, saying: Muhammad ibn Bashshār narrated to us; Hishām ibn ʿAbd al-Malik narrated to us, saying: Hammād ibn Salama informed us, from ʿAmr ibn Dīnār, from Nāfiʿ ibn Jubayr, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: “Allah, glorious is His Majesty, descends to the lowest heaven and says: ‘Is there anyone asking, that I may grant him what he asks? Is there anyone seeking forgiveness, that I may forgive him?’”

716 — Jaʿfar al-Sandalī also narrated to us, saying: Zuhayr ibn Muhammad ⦗1143⦘ al-Marwazī narrated to us, saying: Ishāq ibn ʿUmar ibn Salīt and ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Muhammad ibn Hafs narrated to us; they said: Hammād ibn Salama narrated to us, from ʿAmr ibn Dīnār, from Nāfiʿ ibn Jubayr ibn Mutʿim, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace—then he related a hadith like the preceding one, through to its end.
